Some people claim that there is a conflict between science and religion, or that the Bible contradicts the Big Bang or other scientific theories. But, that was not the case for Georges LaMaitre, the mathematician who proved, before everyone else, that the universe was expanding at an increasing rate.  

Professor Georges LaMaitre was known to everyone as Father Georges LaMaitre, S.J. Thats right ... the man who proved that the Big Bang is real was a believer and follower of Jesus Christ.  He gave up all worldly possessions to follow Christ as a member of the Jesuit order.  He remained a priest in good standing with the Church until his death.
