First Eucharist

Parent letter of affirmation to First Eucharist Candidate

Due one week prior to the First Communion retreat.

The purpose of the letter is to tell your child that you are proud of her / him for learning about the Eucharist. Affirm his / her choice to receive this Sacrament and grow in his / her faith. IPRF staff do not read the letters. They are delivered directly to the child as part of the retreat. It is critical that each child gets a letter form his / her parents.

The following is a suggested outline. You may choose whatever format or content helps you to affirm your child.

Dear Child,

Express how proud you are of the preparations that your child has done for First Eucharist.

Tell your child that you are looking forward to the day when they will receive the body and blood of Christ in the Eucharist for the first time.

Describe how important the Eucharist is in your life.

Tell your child that you love him / her.

Love, Mom and Dad (You can do two separate letters, or one letter together).
